Yoga Nidra: Healing the Subconscious & NSDR
I was recently invited by ISHTA Alumni, Alex Nashton, to join her on the Talk Nerdy to Me podcast for a deep dive into one of my greatest passions—Yoga Nidra. In this conversation, we explore the ancient roots of Yoga Nidra, its connection to Non-Sleep Deep Relaxation, and how it differs from other forms of meditation and hypnotherapy. We also discuss its profound ability to release and heal subconscious and unconscious blocks, memories, and emotions, as well as how it can create an expanded state of consciousness.
Yoga Nidra has been a central part of my life since I was first introduced to it as a teenager growing up in Mumbai. The deep relaxation and expanded awareness I experienced sparked a lifelong curiosity about the brain, neuroscience, and the transformative power of this practice. Now, as a co-owner of ISHTA Yoga, a Yogiraj in the ISHTA lineage, and the director of ISHTA’s teacher training programs, I am honored to share this work with others.
