I am a co-owner of ISHTA Yoga and a Yogiraj or master teacher in the ISHTA lineage. I run ISHTA’s flagship studio in nyc and lead ISHTA’s 500 Hour Global Teacher Trainings.
With over two decades of teaching experience, I specialize in Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, and the subtle body, weaving ancient wisdom with accessible practices for modern life. My passion lies in helping students and teachers access deep states of healing, rest, and self-awareness through the tools of yoga.

Years of Ishta Yoga in NYC
Yoga Nidra has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was first introduced to this deeply restorative practice as a teenager growing up in Mumbai, India, and it had a profound impact on me. I experienced firsthand how it could bring about a deep state of relaxation, and I’ve used it ever since. In fact, I often say I’ve never taught a class without including a Yoga Nidra!
Over the years, I’ve created numerous Yoga Nidra recordings to help people relax deeply, fall asleep, lift their spirits, ground and center themselves, and balance their chakras. You can find my recordings on iTunes, various yoga platforms, and at ISHTA Yoga. I’ve also developed my own Yoga Nidra trainings: Mona Anand’s ISHTA Yoga Nidra and Yoga Nidra and the Chakras, and I’m currently writing a book on Yoga Nidra with Yogiraj Alan Finger.
